The film is directed by Kyle Newman and stars Sam Huntington, Chris Marquette, Dan Fogler, Jay Baruchel, and Kristen Bell. There will also be guest appearances by Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams, Ray Park, Jason Mewes, Kevin Smith and William Shatner.

The story of "Fanboys" takes place in 1998 and Star Wars fanboys across the globe eagerly await the release of "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace". Four friends decides to undertake a road trip across the country to break into George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch and steal an early print of the film. Their reason: one of them is suffering from cancer and wishes to see the film before his death. Along their road trip, they encounter bizarre bikers, a crazy pimp, a deranged group of trekkies and William Shatner.

"Fanboys" will get a limited release in only 8 cities in North America on February 6, 2009. These cities are New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Austin, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle. It is yet to be announced when the film is coming to Asia. I have a bad feeling that The Weinstein Co. is trying to screw the fans by not giving the film a wide release. I'm packing my bags and will be heading to New York to steal the film from their headquarter. Who's coming with me?
