"He's Just Not That Into You" Full Trailer

The full trailer for the new romantic comedy "He's Just Not That Into You" has just gone online. The movie is based on the self-help book of the same name by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo and stars Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Scarlett Johansson, Justin Long, Jennifer Connelly, Ginnifer Goodwin, Kevin Connolly, and Bradley Cooper.

The plot chronicles the romantic misadventures of several individuals in their twenties and thirties. At the core of these multiple stories is Gigi (Ginnifer Goodwin), a young woman who repeatedly misinterprets the signs that men give her about their level of interest in her. The more experienced and romantically successful Alex (Justin Long), the manager of a bar, advises her on how to understand men.

Other plotlines include married couple Janine (Jennifer Connelly) and Ben (Bradley Cooper), who are going through a rough patch—leading him to flirt with Anna (Scarlett Johansson), an aspiring singer. Anna, in turn, is dating Connor (Kevin Connolly), but is clearly less into him than he is into her. The final major plot arc is Neil (Ben Affleck) and Beth's (Jennifer Aniston) story. They have cohabited for several years, but break up when Beth desires to get married and Neil refuses.

"He's Just Not That Into You" is scheduled for release in North America on February 6, 2009 and in Malaysia on April 9, 2009.

Brand New Trailer For "Ip Man"

The official website of "Ip Man" has uploaded a brand new trailer with English subtitles. It looks really impressive and check out the scene where Donnie Yen punches a guy to the floor! Now I really can't wait to see the movie. Is it December yet?

"Ip Man" is adapted from the life story of Yip Man, the grand master of the Wing Chun style of kung fu and sifu (master) of legendary kung fu superstar Bruce Lee. This movie will be the first important record of the master's life. Yip's persistent devotion to Wing Chun is a classic example of the love and respect shown to wushu and the freedom and spirit it represents. "Ip Man" is a concept, a spirit, a way of thinking - and it represent a new peak in Hong Kong’s wushu movies.

First Look At "Coweb"

Kung Fu Cinema recently published an article about the upcoming film "Coweb" which will mark action director/stuntman Xiong Xin-xin's directorial debut. According to Xiong, the film's leading lady, newcomer Jiang Lu-xia, is doing what virtually no other female stunt actress has done before, performing all her own stunts.

"Coweb" marks a new chapter in Xiong’s career as he steps into the director’s role determined to bring back the authentic fighting action that he had once helped create in Hong Kong action films. It is a desire shared by many of the Hong Kong stuntmen and choreographers of his generation and Xiong is in the unique position of making it a reality in an era when audiences have begun looking elsewhere for impressive Asian action. Xiong is certainly in the fighting spirit when comparing his efforts to what Thailand action filmmakers have produced most recently.

“I saw "Chocolate" while we were still shooting and there is nothing to compare. It’s only because they are both action girls,” said Xiong in reference to Prachya Pinkaew’s new martial arts actioner starring female newcomer JeeJa Yanin. “In Chocolate you see a lot of double[s] and it’s always only one kick. It won’t be like that in mine!”

"Coweb" stars Jiang Lu-xia, Sam Lee, Kane Kosugi, and Eddie Cheung. Based off a screenplay by Chan Wing-sun, it’s produced by Joe Ma and Chan Shu-chi.

Full Trailer For "Coraline"

The new full trailer for "Coraline" has just been released. This film is an animated stop-motion fantasy film based on Neil Gaiman's novella of the same name. It is directed by Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas) and features the voices of Dakota Fanning, Ian McShane, Teri Hatcher and Keith David.

The film tells the story of a young girl (Dakota Fanning) who unlocks a mysterious door in her new home in Ashland, Oregon, and enters into an adventure in a parallel reality. On the surface, this other world eerily mimics her own life—though much more fantastical. In it, Coraline encounters such off-kilter inhabitants as the morbidly funny Miss Forcible (Jennifer Saunders) and Miss Spink (Dawn French), and a counterfeit mother—who attempts to keep her. Ultimately, Coraline must count on her resourcefulness, determination, and bravery to get back home.

"Coraline" is scheduled to be released in North America on February 6, 2009 and in Malaysia on March 19, 2009.

"The Wrestler" Trailer Is Here

The new trailer for "The Wrestler" is here. The upcoming film is directed by Darren Aronofsky and stars Mickey Rourke, Ernest Miller, Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood.

"The Wrestler" centered on Randy "Ram" Robinson (Mickey Rourke), a professional wrestler from the 1980s who is forced to retire after a heart attack threatens to kill him the next time he wrestles. He takes a job at a deli, attempts to form a relationship with an aging stripper (Marisa Tomei) and does his best to reconcile with his estranged daughter (Evan Rachel Wood). However, he is drawn to the prospect of a rematch with his old wrestling nemesis the Ayatollah (Ernest Miller), even though the fight may cost him his life.

The film's plot may sound a little too similar to Sylvester Stallone's "Rocky Balboa" (2006) but already every critic and member of the public who has seen the film has started buzzing about an Oscar for Rourke's performance. Hmm...very interesting. But I thought wrestling is fake? Oops, did I just say that out loud?

"The Wrestler" will be released in North America on December 17, 2008.

New "Underworld: Rise Of The Lycans" Poster

Here's the new movie poster for the upcoming "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans". It lacks one key element which was the main feature in the posters of the previous two installments: Kate Beckinsale. Instead of her, we get Bill Nighy sitting on his throne staring menacingly back at you. I hope they have a different version of the movie poster with Rhona Mitra in a tight catsuit. Oh,well...

"Underworld: Rise of the Lycans" is a prequel set prior to "Underworld" (2003) and will trace the origins of the centuries old war between the Death Dealers (vampires) and Lycans (werewolves).

"Underworld: Rise Of The Lycans" is scheduled for release January 23, 2009.

First Look At "Astro Boy"

The teaser trailer for the new animated feature "Astro Boy" is now online. The animated film features the voices of Freddie Highmore, Nicolas Cage, Kristen Bell, Bill Nighy, and Matt Lucas. Personally, I'm not really looking forward to watch this. Do we really need an "Astro Boy" remake? Why can't Hollywood leave classic animes alone?

"Astro Boy" tells the story of a powerful robot boy created by a brilliant scientist in the image of the son he has lost. Our hero journeys to find acceptance in the human world, and ultimately discovers true friendship as he uses his incredible powers to help others and save Metro City from destruction. 'Astro Boy" was created by the Osamu Tezuka, who is often reputed as the "god of manga" in Japan.

"Astro Boy" is scheduled for release on October 23, 2009.

Latest "The Spirit" Movie Poster

The latest movie poster for "The Spirit" has hit the net, and it takes the close-up stills used in earlier publicity materials and puts them together in a cityscape montage with Gabriel Macht's Spirit striding through them. And in case you missed the trailer that was released some time ago, here it is:

Adapted from the legendary comic strip, The Spirit is a classic action-adventure-romance told by genre-twister Frank Miller (creator of 300 and Sin CIity). It is the story of a former rookie cop who returns mysteriously from the dead as The Spirit (Gabriel Macht) to fight crime from the shadows of Central City. His arch-enemy, the Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson) has a different mission: he's going to wipe out Spirit's beloved city as he pursues his own version of immortality. The Spirit tracks this cold-hearted killer from Central City's rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront ... all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill our masked crusader.

"The Spirit" opens on Christmas Day, 2008.

In a gritty and alternate 1985 America, the glory days of costumed vigilantes have been brought to a close by a government crackdown. However, after one of the masked veterans is brutally murdered, an investigation is initiated. The retired superheroes reunite and set out to prevent their own destruction with an extra mission to watch over humanity. In the course of doing so, they unwittingly discover a deeper and far more diabolical plot.

"2012" revolves a family who goes on vacation in December 2012, just as the ancient Mayan calendar is coming to a close. Over the decades, many have interpreted the completion of the Mayan calendar to mean there will be a major change in world order. First Look At The New U.S.S. Enterprise

Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive first look at the new U.S.S. Enterprise from J.J. Abrams upcoming reboot of "Star Trek".

Abrams explained that he wanted to take the original TV series Enterprise and the movie franchise Enterprise and fuse them together into a new yet familiar Enterprise. His ambition was a ship that felt very realistic, that could "stand up" to today's f/x standards—and beyond. "If you're going to do Star Trek there are many things you cannot change. The Enterprise is a visual touchstone for so many people. So if you're going to do the Enterprise, it better look like the Enterprise, because otherwise, what are you doing?"

Fans will get to see more of the new Enterprise when the first trailer arrives this Friday, attached to "Quantum of Solace".

Director Of "Captain America" Confirmed

Joe Johnston (Hidalgo, Jurassic Park 3, Jumanji) has inked a deal to direct "The First Avenger: Captain America" Marvel Studios' take on its classic comic book character. Marvel's Kevin Feige is producing.

No writers are on board, but the studio, which is hearing pitches, expects to hire shortly.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Johnston first met with Marvel two years ago. When the two parties clicked, general talks turned into Captain America-specific meetings, with much of the project's current direction resulting from those early conversations.

"This is a guy who designed the vehicles for 'Star Wars,' who storyboarded the convoy action sequence for 'Raiders of the Lost Ark,' " Feige said. "From 'Rocketeer' to 'October Sky' to 'The Wolfman,' you can look at pieces of his movies and see how they lead to this one."

Created in 1941 by Jack Kirby and Joe Simon for Timely Comics, Captain America is the heroic alter ego of Steve Rogers, who is rejected by the Army for being too sickly and undergoes an experiment that takes him to the pinnacle of human form. Paired with an indestructible shield, he became a symbol of the war effort, in and out of comics.

Kicking off with "Iron Man," Marvel Studios' slate of movies --including "Thor" and the "Iron Man" sequel -- is building toward an "Avengers" movie set for release in 2011, in which the characters from the films team for one big adventure. "Captain America" is scheduled for release May 6, 2011.

"Captain America" will be a World War II-set movie, and the character will appear in the modern day-set "Avengers." Executive producing on "Captain" are Louis D'Esposito, Stan Lee and Marvel Studios' chairman David Maisel.

"Quantum of Solace" Movie Review

Director: Marc Forster
Cast: Daniel Craig, Olga Kurylenko, Mathieu Amalric, Judi Dench, Giancarlo Giannini, Gemma Arterton, Jeffrey Wright

James Bond is back, and this time he's pissed. "Quantum of Solace" continues from where "Casino Royale" left off. After the death of his lover in the previous movie, Bond mixes revenge and duty as he hunts down the shadowy organisation that blackmailed her.

"Quantum of Solace" is the first ever Bond movie where the plot continues directly from the previous installment. This means you will need to watch "Casino Royale" beforehand to fully understand the motivation behind Bond's revenge and also the relationship between Bond and his allies, René Mathis and Felix Leiter.

This movie is not as ground-breaking as "Casino Royale" but it is faster paced with more action and explosions. The movie kicks off with Bond in a car chase as his Aston Martin DB9 is pursued by armed henchmen through the narrow cliff-top lanes of Lake Como, Italy. From then on, we are served with more furious pursuits above rooftops, in speedboats and in planes that will leave you breathless. In the final showdown, Bond sets off a chain of explosions that blows a hydrogen fuel powered eco-hotel to kingdom come.

Starting with "Casino Royale" the filmmakers decides to reboot the Bond franchise by updating it for the new generation. The end result is a more humanised Bond who is more grounded to reality. Daniel Craig's portrayal of the super spy as cold and humourless is a departure from the old-school Bonds. The smart-ass remarks of Connery, Moore and Brosnan are no where to be seen. As with the previous film, the character of Q is not featured and that means no fancy gadgets (except for his cool Sony Ericsson C905). For better or worse, James Bond now feels more like Jason Bourne in a designer suit. Not that I'm complaining because I loved all three of the "Bourne" films.

Fans of old-school Bond may criticise this movie for Bond's lack of humour and fancy gadgets. I'm not big fan of Bond movies, and as a casual moviegoer, I found "Quantum of Solace" quite enjoyable.

Score: 7.5/10

Why Terrence Howard Was Recast In "Iron Man 2"

The news of Terrence Howard being replaced with Don Cheadle in the upcoming "Iron Man 2" has caused quite a stir among fans. Some were upset over the news while others welcome the change as Cheadle is a better actor. New information has surfaced recently and according to Entertainment Weekly, the main reason behind the recasting was because Marvel has drastically reduced Howard's pay for the sequel and negotiations with his agents fell through.

Terrence Howard was the first actor signed to "Iron Man" and, on top of that, was the highest-paid. That's right, Howard was paid more than Robert Downey Jr. and Jeff Bridges. Once the project fully came together, it was too late to renegotiate his deal.

It didn't help that director Jon Favreau and his producers were unhappy with Howard's performance in "Iron Man", and spent a lot of time cutting and reshooting his scenes. As such, when Favreau and screenwriter Justin Theroux went to map out the story line for the sequel, they had to minimise Howard's role.

Once Marvel learned of this, the studio went to Howard's agents with a new figure - estimated at somewhere between a 50 and 80 percent pay cut. It is unclear whether it was Howard's team or Marvel that walked away from the negotiation first. Either way, the studio moved quickly to secure Don Cheadle as a replacement and the story leaked out the next morning.

Latest "Bedtime Stories" Trailer

The latest trailer for "Bedtime Stories" has been released. The movie will be the first collaboration between Walt Disney Pictures and Adam Sandler. Since Disney is involved, I think Sandler's usual style of humour might be toned down to be more family friendly.

In the movie, Adam Sandler plays Skeeter Bronson whose life is changed forever when the bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew start to mysteriously come true. He attempts to take advantage of the phenomenon, incorporating his own aspirations into one outlandish tale after another, but it's the kids' unexpected contributions that turn Skeeter's life upside down.

"Bedtime Stories" is scheduled for release on Christmas Day 2008.

Final Trailer for "Valkyrie"

The third and final trailer for Bryan Singer's upcoming historical thriller "Valkyrie" is here. This your last chance for a sneak peek at the movie before its release later this year.

"Valkyrie" is scheduled for release on December 26, 2008.

"Angels & Demons" is due for release on May 15, 2009

"The Day The Earth Stood Still" 5 Minutes Trailer

A new 5 minutes extended trailer for the sci-fi classic remake "The Day The Earth Stood Still" is now available online. The trailer looks awesome and really got me interested.

How much this remake differs from the original 1951 movie is unknown. In the original movie, a humanoid alien visitor (Klaatu) comes to Earth to warn the world leaders to make love not war or his invincible robot (Gort) will burn us all to hell.

Just for kicks, I've included the trailer from the original classic as well. By watching both trailers, you'll be amazed how much filmmaking has progressed over the past 57 years. Aah, the wonders of modern technology.

"The Day The Earth Stood Still" is scheduled for release December 12, 2008.
