"Tekken" Movie Trailer

The trailer for the upcoming martial arts film "Tekken" is now online. The film is based on the popular video game series of the same name. The trailer doesn't look too bad and the film should be better than "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li" and "DOA: Dead or Alive".

The film is directed by Dwight H. Little and the written by Alan B. McElroy. Cyril Raffaelli is the film's fight choreographer and this is good news for fans of martial arts films. Raffaelli is a French martial artist and stuntman who co-starred and choreographed the fights in the French action flicks "Banlieue 13" and "Banlieue 13 Ultimatum". You may also remember him as one of the twins who fight Jet Li at the end of "Kiss of the Dragon".

"Tekken" stars Jon Foo as Jin Kazama, Cung Le as Marshall Law, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as Heihachi Mishima, Kelly Overton as Christie Monteiro, Gary Daniels as Bryan Fury, Luke Goss as Steve Fox, Ian Anthony Dale as Kazuya, Lateef Crowder as Eddy Gordo, Candice Hillebrand as Nina Williams, Darrin Dewitt Henson as Raven and Nathan Jones as Craig Marduk.

Interestingly, three of the film's cast members were in the Thai martial arts film "Tom-Yum-Goong" which stars Tony Jaa. Those who have watched the film will recall the scene in a Buddhist monastery where Tony Jaa fights a Capoeira fighter, a wushu swordsman and a giant wrestler, one after another. Well, the Capoeira fighter, wushu swordsman and giant wrestler were played by Lateef Crowder, Jon Foo and Nathan Jones respectively.

"Tekken" will premiere on Blu-ray and DVD in the UK on April 5, 2010.
