According to Variety, 20th Century Fox will join Walden Media to co-produce the third film in the Narnia series, "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader". Fox is involved in developing the project because of the shared Fox Walden marketing and distribution label.
One month ago, Disney announced their decision to leave the franchise for financial and logistical reasons.
Budget and script issues are still being worked out, but the two sides are hoping to start shooting the film in Australia by the end of summer 2009. The film will be released through the Fox Walden label.
Michael Apted will be on board as director. Ben Barnes, Skandar Keynes and Georgie Henley will return as Caspian, Edmund and Lucy respectively. Joining them is Will Poulter who will portray Eustace Clarence Scrubb.
"The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" is expected to be released on the summer of 2010.
