Winners of the 29th Hong Kong Film Awards

The all-star action/drama film "Bodyguards and Assassins" dominated the 29th Hong Kong Film Awards which was held at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre last night by winning best film and seven other awards.

"Echoes of the Rainbow", a low-budget drama on Hong Kong in the 1960s, emerged as the second biggest winner by winning four awards, including best screenplay and best actor.

Director and martial arts choreographer Lau Kar-leung, whose credits include "The 36th Chamber of Shaolin" and "Drunken Master II," was presented with the lifetime achievement award. Lau is the eldest son of Lau Charn, who was the student of Lam Sai-Wing, who himself was the student of legendary kung fu hero Wong Fei-Hung.

A group of dancers wearing Kato costumes and young boys donning yellow jumpsuits paid tribute to the late kung fu star Bruce Lee ahead of what would have been his 70th birthday on November 27, 2010. This was followed by the hip-hop group LMF performing the song 1127.
