IMHO, STAR WARS has always been way cooler than STAR TREK. However, following the phenomenal success of J.J. Abrams' new STAR TREK movie (now the top-grossing film of 2009), things have now changed. Here's a chart explaining why the STAR TREK franchise is suddenly so hip right now.
